Unique Easter Basket Ideas Your Kids Will Love

With spring right around the corner, that means Easter is just a few weeks away.

This year, the Easter Bunny has a few new tricks up his sleeve. These Easter ideas think outside the basket with some fun themes that could easily be adjusted to your child’s interests.

Also, while these Easter basket ideas don’t involve candy, you can always add some. I tried to pick a mix of items that were fun, useful (like sunglasses and water bottles), and in-theme.

Let’s Be Mermaids

Your little mermaid will adore this treasure trove of under the sea themed goodies. I think my favorite part of this one is the perfectly printed lunchbox from Scout. Not only is it adorable, but it’s also incredibly well-made and useful.

If unicorns or some other mythical creature are more your kid’s style, you could easily switch up the theme with a different patterned lunch bag and different goodies.

Set your lunch box of fun up with some festive fake grass and then watch your child’s face light up with this great Easter morning discovery!

Shimmery Easter grass really completes that mermaid look.

For the Dinosaur Obsessed

Another functional but fun Easter basket idea, this canvas storage gift basket is the perfect Easter present for your dino-loving kiddo.

I try to gift useful items whenever possible. Kids will love the bright sunglasses and themed water bottle, and you’ll love having extras of these spring and summer essentials.

Hot tip: To give your Easter grass extra lift and volume, without using bags and bags of the stuff, line the bottom half of your bin with a large white towel or tissue paper. You could even use a fun new beach towel for this purpose, adding an extra goodie to the basket. Then, add your layer of Easter grass on the top before arranging the gifts inside.

I used biodegradable Easter grass for this one, and I have to say, it was much easier to clean up than your traditional fake grass.

When Easter is over, you get the added bonus of a canvas bin for stuffed animal and toy storage.

Your Little Makeup Artist

Does your little one want to be just like mommy? Gift them a beauty kit of their own, minus the mess of real makeup.

Future fashionistas will especially love how their Easter basket is actually a mini Caboodles case.

Pretend make-up kits are really having a moment right now. Some of the ones I’ve seen are a little too pricey in my opinion, but this set I found on Amazon is reasonable enough at $13.99. It even comes with a cute little cosmetic bag to keep everything together.

If you’re not familiar with this recent trend, these look and feel like real make-up, but use plastic and foam instead of actual pressed powder, eyeshadow, or lipstick. Kids can enjoy “applying” makeup, and mom can rest easy knowing there won’t be any stains or skin reactions.

Have a creative Easter basket theme or your own take on these ideas? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments!

Happy spring everyone!
